Linda Sandifer’s novel, Lost and Broken Things, has been named the Women Writing the West 2026 WILLA Literary Award Winner in Historical Fiction. The awards will be received at the annual WWW convention held this year in Phoenix, Arizona, October 15-17th.
This follows an award earlier this year from the Western Writers of America: the Spur Award for Best Traditional Western Novel, news of which IWU had shared.
As the Women Writing the West website states: The WILLA Literary Award was first presented in 1999. Named in honor of Pulitzer Prize winning novelist Willa Cather, the WILLA Literary Award recognizes the best in literature, featuring women’s or girls’ stories set in the North American West that are published each year.
Congratulations!
