Outline Your Memoir

This free online workshop promises to help with a daunting task by starting with sorting through and organizing all the details you’ll need to structure your memoir.

Author Jenelle Hardy will talk you through how to look at the vast and varied material in your life and get started with writing it down.

This free workshop, sponsored by ProWritingAid (software), will cover guidance on:

  • Your timelines
  • Rites of passage
  • Moments of decision
  • Pivotal experiences
  • Themes and patterns …. including some you may not recognize

You must register for the workshop to be conducted for two hours on Thursday, 18 March 2021.

Treasure Valley Reads 2021

What would happen if a whole region read the same book and talked about it? That’s the premise of Treasure Valley Reads. How great is that? Your dedicated website manager had never heard of it before.

This year the book chosen is A Manual for Cleaning Women by Lucia Berlin — compiling the best work of the legendary short story writer.

Willamette Writers Conference

Mark your calendar. The 2021 Willamette Writers Conference will again be all online: 29 July through 1 August 2021.

They’ll have workshops, Master Classes, pitching, and Zoom games aplenty. Everything for you to connect with your community, develop your craft, and expand your career as a writer!

Idaho Prize for Poetry

Lost Horse Press (in Sandpoint) runs the Idaho Prize for Poetry contest for a book-length poetry manuscript. Winners receive $1000, publication by Lost Horse Press, and 20 comp copies of their book.

Submissions are now open for the Idaho Prize for Poetry 2021

  • All US poets are eligible.
  • Entries must be submitted by 31 May 2021
